電子技術(shù)發(fā)展起來了,單板機(jī)出現(xiàn)了,后來人們嘗試使用單板機(jī)來替代繼電器電路,結(jié)果很復(fù)雜的邏輯,只要集成在一塊板子上就可以滿足功能要求了。所以工業(yè)電氣系統(tǒng)能實(shí)現(xiàn)更復(fù)雜的邏輯控制,體積又小,維護(hù)起來比繼電器容易多了。但是單板機(jī)可靠性不行,工業(yè)場(chǎng)所需要抗干擾很強(qiáng),粉塵和震動(dòng)也很厲害,而且使用匯編語言編程,一般電工都學(xué)不會(huì)。單片機(jī)出來以后,單板機(jī)的功能基本上集成到一塊芯片上,所以有家叫莫迪康的公司設(shè)計(jì)了PLC這款產(chǎn)品出來了,硬件考慮了工業(yè)場(chǎng)所要求,處理比較穩(wěn)定可靠,然后軟件根據(jù)電工的思維習(xí)慣,弄出了一套梯形圖編程的系統(tǒng)來,和線下的繼電器電路差不多,這樣通過電腦上“接線”,用符合來替代實(shí)物,就可以實(shí)現(xiàn)“軟”方法來修改邏輯電路了。

工業(yè)生產(chǎn)一般對(duì)控制設(shè)備的可靠性要求很高,并且要有很強(qiáng)的抗干擾能力。PLC能在惡劣的環(huán)境中可靠的工作,平均無故障時(shí)間達(dá)到數(shù)萬小時(shí)以上,已被公認(rèn)為*可靠的工業(yè)控制設(shè)備之一。
PLC本身具有較強(qiáng)的自診斷功能,保證硬件核心設(shè)備(CPU、存儲(chǔ)器、I/O總線等)在正常情況下執(zhí)行用戶程序,一旦出現(xiàn)故障則立即給出出錯(cuò)信號(hào),停止用戶程序的執(zhí)行,切斷所有輸出信號(hào),等待修復(fù)。PLC的主要模塊均采用大規(guī)模和超大規(guī)模集成電路,I/O系統(tǒng)設(shè)計(jì)有完善的通道保護(hù)與信號(hào)調(diào)理電路。在結(jié)構(gòu)上對(duì)耐熱、防潮、防塵、抗震等都有的考慮,在硬件上采用隔離,屏蔽、濾波、接地等抗干擾措施,在軟件上采用數(shù)字濾波等措施。與繼電器系統(tǒng)和通用計(jì)算機(jī)相比,PLC更能適應(yīng)工業(yè)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)環(huán)境要求。

可編程控制器是60年代末在美國(guó)首先出現(xiàn),當(dāng)時(shí)叫可編程邏輯控制器PLC(Programmable Logic Controller),目的是用來取代繼電器,以執(zhí)行邏輯判斷、計(jì)時(shí)、計(jì)數(shù)等順序控制功能。PLC的基本設(shè)計(jì)思想是把計(jì)算機(jī)功能完善、靈活、通用等優(yōu)點(diǎn)和繼電器控制系統(tǒng)的簡(jiǎn)單易懂、操作方便、價(jià)格便宜等優(yōu)點(diǎn)結(jié)合起來,控制器的硬件是標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的、通用的。根據(jù)實(shí)際應(yīng)用對(duì)象,將控制內(nèi)容編成軟件寫入控制器的用戶程序存儲(chǔ)器內(nèi)。控制器和被控對(duì)象連接方便。
隨著半導(dǎo)體技術(shù),尤其是微處理器和微型計(jì)算機(jī)技術(shù)的發(fā)展,到70年代中期以后,PLC已廣泛地使用微處理器作為中央處理器,輸入輸出模塊和外圍電路也都采用了中、大規(guī)模甚至超大規(guī)模的集成電路,這時(shí)的PLC已不再是邏輯判斷功能,還同時(shí)具有數(shù)據(jù)處理、PID調(diào)節(jié)和數(shù)據(jù)通信功能。
